Modern Slavery Statement of Shanghai Meisongbei Electronics Co., Ltd.
1. Introduction
Shanghai Meisongbei Electronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") is committed to conducting business in an ethical and responsible manner. We have a zero‑tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, and all forms of exploitation in our operations and supply chains.
This statement is made in alignment with the principles of the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), and reflects the steps we have taken during the financial year to prevent modern slavery.
2. Our Business Structure
The Company is a limited liability entity registered in Shanghai, China, primarily engaged in the trading, distribution, and minor assembly of electronic components and related products. Our supply chain includes suppliers from several countries/regions. We currently employ [insert number] people directly.
3. Our Policies
We have adopted an internal policy that reaffirms our prohibition of modern slavery. Key elements include:
Compliance with all applicable labour laws (minimum wage, working hours, overtime compensation, prohibition of child/forced labour).
Requirement that all employees enter into a lawful employment contract voluntarily.
No retention of identity documents, no recruitment fees charged to workers, and no restriction on workers’ freedom to leave the workplace or terminate employment.
4. Due Diligence and Risk Assessment
Because our core activity is trading, our most significant modern slavery risk lies in lower‑tier manufacturing suppliers. To address this:
We request new suppliers to confirm compliance with anti‑slavery laws and basic labour standards.
Where feasible, we conduct spot checks or request written declarations from high‑risk suppliers (e.g., those in sectors with higher reported incidence of forced labour).
We include a clause in our standard purchase orders that prohibits supplier use of forced labour or human trafficking.
5. Remediation and Grievance
If any instance of modern slavery is identified, we will immediately suspend the relationship with the supplier and take appropriate remedial action (including, where warranted, termination of the contract). Employees or external whistleblowers may report concerns to [insert company contact email], and all reports will be treated confidentially without retaliation.
6. Training
The Company provides basic awareness training to key procurement and management staff to help them recognise potential indicators of modern slavery and understand their responsibility to report concerns.
7. Approval and Review
This statement has been approved by the Company’s management. We will review and update it annually, or as our business and supply chain change materially.
